OUR ROOMS

Our Rooms....

"Children show high levels of confidence. This can be seen when they independently

choose what they want to play with from the wide range of resources available."

 Ducklings  - 6 months - 14 months

Long-lasting benefits

For babies aged between 6 months - 14 months. Your baby is cared for in a safe and relaxed environment which is very important to us as carers. The children are encouraged to enjoy a range of activities including but not limited to, messy play, imaginative play and sensory play both indoors and outdoors.
We have fully equipped rooms for nap times and in house facilities for warming milk and food. We also have access to double buggies for walks around the school and trips to the school farm.

Bunnies - 14 months - 2 years

Foundation for education

For children aged between 14 months - 2 years.
The Bunnies room has a cosy book corner, a role play area for cooking and creativity. Various activities are planned daily for messy play, painting and building which are all designed to engage your children in the joy of learning through play.
We also have a great outdoor space which we use everyday whatever the weather, always ensuring appropriate clothing for seasonal changes.

Goslings - 2-3 years
The next step

Our toddler room is for children aged 2-3.
The aim is to prepare the children to join the Pre - school Room at 3 years old.
In this room we have a book area, role-play, construction, messy play as well as arts and crafts. The children enjoy a mix of child initiated activities and adult led activities.
We also have free flow play where the children have the choice to take part in activities outside. The outside area includes bikes, building on a larger scale and a large climbing frame and slide to help aid coordination and more complex motor skills. We also have a digging and growing area. We are extremely lucky to be situated on the grounds of Homewood School and Sixth Form Centre which allows us close proximity to the farm and everything it has to offer the children.

Lambs - Pre School Room - 3 years +

Preparing for school

For children aged 3 and over.

The children progress at age 3 form the Goslings room to the Lambs room which is designed to prepare them for all that school entails.

In this room we have a book area, role-play, construction, messy play as well as arts and crafts. The children enjoy a mix of child initiated activities and adult led activities.

We also have free flow play where the children choose to take part in activities outside. The outside area reflects the inside with similar areas but also includes bikes, building on a larger scale and a large climbing frame and slide. We also have a digging and growing area.

We follow the EYFS Curriculum

The Curriculum meets the needs of the whole child. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS).

Children develop in the 3 Prime Areas first which are:

  • Communication and language
  • Physical development
  • Personal, social and emotional development

The specific areas are:

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design

Children are encouraged to try new activities at their own pace and emphasis is on a "willingness to have a go".

More information about the Early Years Foundation Stage is available from:
